What’s Volteras Connect?

Volteras Connect is the name of Volteras' API (application programming interface) purpose-built to stream targeted data for any business in energy and mobility.

The high-performance API transfers information between electric vehicles (EVs) or energy devices, to businesses’ applications or SaaS, giving real-time updates about information like charging status, device performance, vehicle condition and more.

It establishes direct connections with data sources like EVs, home batteries, charging stations, and more, collecting data from vehicle telemetry, battery health metrics and energy consumption. It then streamlines the data for transfer, streaming it via authorized integrations with original equipment manufacturers' (OEMs') servers or apps.

What are authorized integrations?

Authorized integrations are only possible with official collaborations with OEMs. Data is transferred through designated channels, on secure infrastructure. This purpose-built infrastructure is what guarantees a significant difference in data speed, stability, and range. Data is streamed up to every 5 seconds, rather than every hour. And it’s continuously streamed, with 99.9% uptime (that means almost no outages, ever).

When data is streamed via unauthorized integrations, without the OEMs’ permission, this often leads to long, unpredictable delays, outages, and inaccurate or incomplete information.

Is it easy to connect to the API?

Fleet managers can connect every single vehicle in their fleet seamlessly in a couple of seconds. To do this, they simply need the VIN (vehicle identification number)—no hardware or dongles are required. There’s nothing for the driver to do; it’s all done remotely.

Once their EVs are connected, fleet managers can access fleet-specific data up to every 5 seconds. This information includes predictive maintenance, battery health, real range, state of health, lock / unlock door commands for rentals, and much more.
