Connected vehicle data provider Volteras will be a sponsor at this year’s BVRLA Fleets in Charge Conference, where electric vehicle charging, infrastructure and battery health within the fleet sector will be in full focus.
BVRLA members are now managing more than 750,000 EVs in total and battery State of Health (SOH) is becoming an increasingly important consideration for fleets, particularly when it comes to residual values and building confidence in the used EV market.
Volteras will showcase how its connected vehicle data can help fleets access more insights into battery performance, charging behaviour and overall vehicle efficiency without the need for aftermarket hardware.
Providing OEM-grade access to vehicle data directly from manufacturers, Volteras enables fleet operators and leasing companies to monitor charging activity, battery SOH, and real-time location data and odometer readings through a single integrated platform.
Its recent analysis found that EVs sold at auction with an SOH certificate generated higher levels of buyer engagement, with an increase in advert views, more bids and a greater number of unique bidders than the same cars sold without a certificate.
Chris Heddle, Head of Sales & Partnerships at Volteras, said:
“The fleet industry is looking for increased clarity around charging infrastructure, operating costs and long-term battery performance. Becoming a sponsor at the BVRLA Fleets in Charge Conference gives us an excellent opportunity to engage with fleet operators and discuss the power of our connected vehicle data in supporting smarter decisions through the electric transition.
Traditionally, battery SOH has been measured through one-off physical tests using hardware connected to the vehicle. By assessing OEM vehicle data remotely, we can instead provide a continuous view of battery performance over time, without needing aftermarket hardware.
Operators can also see which vehicles’ batteries are degrading faster than expected, whether they’re underperforming compared to others of the same make and model, and if further intervention is needed. The result is not simply a battery health score, but an evolving picture of battery condition over time, leading to more informed decision-making and a proactive approach to battery lifecycle management.”
Taking place at the IET London: Savoy Place on 1st July, the conference has become a key event for leasing and rental operators currently transitioning to EVs. The seventh edition of the event brings together industry experts and policymakers to discuss the latest developments impacting the sector.
