At Volteras, we’re proud to work with energy and mobility businesses that drive innovation and electrification to help build a greener planet. Hitachi ZeroCarbon’s mission is to accelerate the transition to zero carbon today, to pioneer the world of tomorrow.
The technology company helps fleets decarbonize by developing EV transition strategy, charging capabilities, and extending battery life. This also lowers electricity costs, reduces the cost of ownership and generates new revenue streams for their customers.
Hitachi ZeroCarbon provides EV charging and battery management services in a suite of solutions, ensuring vehicles are safely charged to efficiently carry out daily operations and the long-term performance of batteries are protected.
Lately, we’ve been working with Hitachi ZeroCarbon to support their charging optimisation solution, ZeroCarbon Charge. This platform sends real-time alerts and offers live vehicle monitoring 24/7, plus load balancing and advanced tariff optimisation.
High-quality, dependable data is key for Hitachi ZeroCarbon. To optimize charge schedules in the most efficient way, accessing data from vehicles in real time is essential. Time-critical information such as state of charge needs to be accurate, reliable and up to date. This enables Hitachi ZeroCarbon to build the high-quality products that help its fleet customers cut unnecessary costs and grow revenue.
Volteras’ API provides this data. Via our official partnership with Ford, we were able to seamlessly integrate data for Hitachi ZeroCarbon from their customers, including a fleet of e-transit vans. The integration was seamless: all that was required was the vehicle identification number (VIN)—no hardware or manual input. As our platform streams data continuously, second by second, Hitachi ZeroCarbon can access and utilize key EV metrics like vehicle and charging status exactly when they need it.
Hitachi ZeroCarbon can also view charging data directly from the vehicle seamlessly without interrupting daily operations. Their customers can see detailed information about location and state of charge of key battery assets, allowing them to optimize vehicles based on route, journey, or condition.
Jim Donaldson, Chief Technology Officer at Hitachi ZeroCarbon, summarizes: "Volteras has simplified the process of obtaining automaker data, enabling us to onboard new customer vehicles quickly, easily and at a low cost. This has allowed us to focus on our own innovations, and deliver the insight our customers need."
Via authorized integrations with OEMs, we stream data in real-time through secure, dedicated channels. This partnership is just one example of how energy and mobility businesses can leverage high-quality data to build smart, sustainable solutions.
